Infrared spectroscopy

IR (infrared) spectroscopy is a technique used in many Ph. Eur. and USP monographies for ID-analyses of pharmaceutical raw materials. DB Lab can analyse by different FT-IR principles: The sample may either be analysed directly by ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) or by transmission after being casted into a potassium bromide disc (solid material) or applied to a sodium chloride disc (solution). The IR spectrum is compared to a reference spectrum obtained with a Ph. Eur. or USP chemical reference substance.
