Ethylenoxid, ethylenchorohydrin og ethylenglycol

For medicinsk udstyr, der steriliseres med ethylenoxid og kommer i kontakt med patienten, er der grænser for tilladt restindhold af ethylenoxid og ethylenchlorohydrin (2-chloroethanol).

Reglerne er beskrevet i den internationale standard ISO 10993-7 "Biological evaluation of medical devices – Part 7: Ethylene oxide sterilization residuals".
