Ethylene Oxide and Residual Gas Analyses

Regarding medical equipment sterilised with ethylene oxide which is in touch with the patients, there are limits to the permitted quantity of residues of ethylene oxide and ethylene chlorohydrin.

The rules are described in the international standard ISO 10993-7 "Biological evaluation of medical devices – Part 7: Ethylene oxide sterilization residuals".
